The Quality Engineer will plan and conduct activities concerned with the quality assurance of industrial processes, materials, and products.
Your Role and Responsibilities
- Plans and conducts the analysis, inspection, testing, and/or integration to assure the quality of assigned product or component.
- Applies statistical process control (SPC) methods for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changes.
- Documents data obtained during all quality assurance activities, consistent with company policies and procedures.
- Develops new approaches to solve problems identified during quality assurance activities.
- Communicates significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and provides recommended process improvements to management.
- Prepares reports and presents technical and program information to team members and management.
- Directs technical and administrative workers engaged in quality assurance activities.
- Maintains a working knowledge of government and industry quality assurance codes and standards.
What is Required for the Role
- A Bachelor's degree in Quality Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Engineering Technology, Industrial Engineering or related field.
- At least 2 years relevant quality assurance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Project management experience.
- Proficiency in Lean and Six Sigma Practices a must; ISO-9001 experience a must; 17025 experience highly desired.
- Six Sigma Green Belt Certification required.
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer highly desired.
- Proficient in Minitab and MS Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook) a must.
- Willingness to work out of Peru, IN office on a daily basis and travel approximately every other month to our plant in Hartland, WI and internationally 1 or 2x/yr.
