General Summary:
Mid-career to Senior Configuration/Data Management (CDM) professional proficient in performing the Configuration and Data Management functions sought for the Space Launch System (SLS) Program Office at NASA Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC). This full-time position will perform all Configuration and Data Management functions utilizing Windchill, Jira and Microsoft Office products. The position requires substantial knowledge in all five functions of Configuration Management: Planning, Identification, Change Management, Status Accounting and Audits/Verification. The position requires flexibility to cover various tasks including Control Board Secretariat, Change Package Management, CSA reporting, and auditing. Ability to provide functional leadership to an existing multi-person team is key to this position. The successful candidate will be able to take a proactive approach in working with existing CDM personnel to manage required processes with particular focus on electronic processes using existing tools. This position will support MSFC and SLS efforts to move into a model-based engineering, digital thread environment.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Interface with project personnel and personnel on the SLS Program as well as other NASA Centers to implement all aspects of the CM and DM functions.
- Provide guidance and recommendations on the execution and improvement of CM and DM processes for the program.
- Facilitate the SLS change management process including support to the SLS Control Boards as the back-up Secretariat and as a Change Package Manager (Change Integrator).
- Manage program data in the Windchill environment.
- Provide interface with the SLS Element manager as well as the Prime Contractor to ensure effective CM/DM implementation.
- Perform the Configuration Status Accounting function utilizing a Jira database.
- Work with program personnel to coordinate the review process and to ensure completeness of their product prior to presentation to the control board.
- Perform the Records Management function for program.
- Handle Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), ITAR and other export control or proprietary data following NASA and MSFC requirements and guidelines.
Job Specifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required with a minimum of 11 years of applicable CDM experience to include management of baselines, operation of project control boards, and configuration status accounting experience is required. May substitute the following for BS degree: HS Diploma and at least 14 years experience.
- Recent experience managing configuration baselines and/or program data within a digital environment is strongly desired.
- Experience as a Configuration Control Board Secretariat or equivalent is strongly desired.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel & Power Point) is required.
- Strong organization skills, attention to detail and excellent follow-through skills are required.
- Experience in the use of CDM systems such as Windchill or SharePoint or equivalent is required.
- Experience performing the CSA function using a database such as Jira, ACESS or equivalent is desired.
- Experience in the development and maintenance of CM and/or DM Plans is desired.
- Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team to accomplish program objectives is desired.
- Certification in CDM or related field such as the National Defense Industry Association (NDIA) Certification is desired.
- US Citizenship required.
- Ability to obtain clearance/access onsite at NASA MSFC is required.
