Metalex powered byUPG is looking for a Quality Engineer II based in Libertyville, IL. Metalex is looking for a detail-oriented candidate that is eager to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment. Any relevant steel experience is preferred, but not required. We strive to build strong relationships with our customers by providing a high level of service, professionalism, and strategic attention to our valued members.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain quality control system and documents, which may include but are not limited to procedures, audits, controls, corrective actions, and calibrations
- Maintain control of procedural documents; write new procedures; revise existing procedures; ensure procedural compliance
- Conduct internal audits, document findings, and follow up on corrective actions
- Perform root cause analysis for internal issues and customer complaints; make recommendations for solutions
- Maintain records of quality issues, corrective action and general quality statistics, report on quality performance to management
- Inspect components and material; ensure compliance with blueprint requirements
- Work with external vendors to ensure quality standards are met, work with Purchasing and suppliers on material quality issues
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in related field
- Three (3) years of experience in a quality position; manufacturing experience preferred
- Proficiency with measuring tools: micrometers, calibers, comparator, gages, etc.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects in a timely manner
- Ability to drive issues to closure
