Job Summary: Performs a variety of inspections and tests on parts and products to ensure compliance with specifications. Utilizes technical drawings to conduct dimensional measurements, assembly tasks, and final inspections.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct receiving, in-process, 1st article, and final inspections, including dimensional, visual, and documentation checks.
- Perform pressure, thermal, and other specified tests; evaluate test reports to determine product conformance.
- Manage inspection priorities based on production requirements.
- Identify, document, and report non-conformances using the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Contribute to and document corrective actions in the QMS.
- Maintain and calibrate measurement equipment as necessary.
- Develop and maintain Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) programs.
- Work independently or with minimal assistance to fulfill job functions.
- Achieve departmental efficiency and utilization targets.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Report unsafe conditions and maintenance needs to Operations Manager.
- Adhere to company health, safety, and QMS procedures.
- Maintain professional relationships with colleagues and support departments.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of work area (5S principles).
- Train and mentor departmental staff as needed.
- Assist other departments with Quality Control tasks as directed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Proficiency in Measurement System Analysis (MSA), including Gage R&R studies and GD&T.
- Ability to write basic reports in MS Word or PowerPoint; proficiency in MS Excel for data collection.
- Familiarity with testing equipment and ability to analyze test data.
- Knowledge of PFMEA, Control Plan, First Article, and Design of Experiments (DOE).
- Experience in programming and operating a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM).
- Strong understanding of inspection tools, sampling plans, and corrective action programs.
- Competency in using hand tools and precision measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers, etc.).
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints (GD&T).
- Basic computer skills for data entry and document management.
- Fundamental math skills for interpreting drawings and measurements.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and communication skills.
- Team player capable of working in a dynamic environment to meet production schedules.
