Summary/Objectives: Plans, coordinates, and directs Quality Assurance program designed to ensure quality production of products consistent with established standards by performing the following duties personally and through subordinates. THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL PERFORM SAID DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES UNDER THE MENTORSHIP OF THE INCUMBENT QA MANAGER UNTIL HIS AGREED UPON RETIREMENT DATE.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):
- Develop and maintain Quality Management System through ISO-9001
- Formulate and maintain Quality Assurance objectives complementary to corporate policies and goals.
- Drive continuous improvement of product quality using continuous improvement tools such as auditing, check sheets, effective team meetings, Pareto charts, sampling and SPC.
- Supervise direct reports providing strategic tools and training in Quality Assurance practices.
- Perform quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements and company quality records.
- Apply statistical process control (SPC) methods for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changes.
- Assist in accepting a product or continue business with a vendor based on review by Quality Assurance staff and appropriate Engineering and Supply Chain staff.
- Review all data obtained during all Quality Assurance activities to ensure consistency with company policies and procedures.
- Develop new approaches to solve problems identified during Quality Assurance activities.
- Keep management team abreast of significant issues or developments identified during Quality Assurance activities and actions being taken to improve the situation.
- Design and implement Quality Assurance training programs to key personnel in conjunction with managers.
- Investigate and resolve customer complaints regarding product quality.
- Assist Engineering and Sales in providing corrective action to customers.
- Maintain equipment calibration program.
- Perform inspections as required using various measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers and coordinate measuring machine.
- Maintain a customer focus by meeting regularly with Sales and Marketing teams.
- Manage department of Quality Assurance Technicians.

Education and/or Experience:

Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Quality Management or related field of study; or Six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- ISO-9001 2015 Lead Auditor
- Must have computer skills
- Solid math skills
- Able to read, understand and train others on drawings and inspection equipment
- Knowledge in and able to train employees on tool room equipment
- Able to organize and multi-task
- Must be self-motivated, able to work independently and willing to make decisions
- Able to troubleshoot and resolve problems
- Must be a good communicator (written and verbal)
- Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the English language

The employee is required to stand for long periods of time and occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move heavier items utilizing a team lift. Required Personal Protective Equipment includes, but is not limited to, safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toe shoes, respirator mask, and coveralls. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to airborne contaminants, moving mechanical parts and vibration. Work environment is not climate-controlled. The noise level may exceed permissible exposure limit and hearing protection may be required.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
Full-Time. Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00AM - 5:00PM. 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off. Hours are subject to change at any time.
Travel: Travel is expected for this position.
