Executive Summary
We are looking for a confident Purchasing Assistant to facilitate the flow of inventory and sales in our business. The Purchasing Assistant will be responsible for generating reports on work progress, completion dates, production challenges, stock levels, and costs. You will be responsible for contacting vendors regarding pricing discrepancies, expediting orders, delivery information, and backorder statuses on parts. This individual will also help other members of the purchasing team as necessary. This position reports to the Purchasing Manager.

Responsibilities
- Growing professional relationships with various internal and external stakeholders
- Liaising with vendors to ensure timely delivery of goods, accuracy of pricing and returns of product
- Maintaining weekly reorder reports and appropriate stocking levels
- Coordinating with the warehouse department in regards to receiving shipments of materials, and examining deliveries to ensure accurate quantities, quality, and specifications
- Facilitating flow of materials between various departments and parties including warehouse, service and sales departments
- Examining vendor confirmations for inconsistencies, such as mischarges
- Meeting and collaborating with management to assess reliability of suppliers and vendors and to identify solutions for ongoing problems.
- Performing clerical duties and maintaining accurate records and files of activities
- Assisting the warehouse with inventory accuracy and adjustments
- Following established guidelines, instructions, policies, and procedures
Education and Experience
- High school diploma, GED, or suitable equivalent
- 2+ years’ work experience in similar role
- Proficient understanding of materials and services procurement
- Excellent computer skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Word and Excel
- Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written
- Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills
- Ability to comply with company policies and procedures
- Strong sense of urgency required
- Prior manufacturing experience preferred but not required
- Sage 100 experience preferred.
