Lancaster Water Group is a well-established and leading manufacturer in the Water Treatment Industry. Since 1942 our mission has been to provide clean flowing water through quality equipment. Due to our rapid growth we are looking to add a Purchasing Assistant to our team. The Assistant plays a pivotal role in vendor relations, inventory management, and intercompany communication. Essentially, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our supply chain. This role has a great opportunity for advancement.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the procurement of materials and supplies needed for production
- Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate prices and terms of purchase
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and inventory levels
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the warehouse team to ensure adequate stock levels
- Assist with the implementation and maintenance of inventory control systems
- Generate reports on purchasing activities, inventory levels, and cost savings
- Support the purchasing team in various administrative tasks

Skills:
- Proficiency in procurement software
- Strong knowledge of materials management and inventory control principles
- Excellent relationship and negotiation skills to obtain the best prices from suppliers
- Ability to analyze data and generate reports using spreadsheet software (e.g., Microsoft Excel)
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to maintain accurate records
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with suppliers and internal teams
Must be able to work independently
