Job Description
Perform professional purchasing functions at an Apprentice level. Operate in a broad range of acquisition activities for the entire Tribal Organization. Record daily receipt of requisitions and verify authorized signatures. Research sources to procure equipment, goods, and services at the lowest possible cost consistent with needs by full exploration and unrestricted competition. Receive requisition; analyze each item for quantity, specifications, and delivery requirements, and/or determine any other terms or conditions that may be required. Review purchasing activities for compliance with all applicable laws and regulations that govern procurement. Follow up on delivery of orders. Evaluate vendor performance based on personal knowledge of prices, deliveries, and information received from affiliates relative to product acceptability and vendor service.
Requirements
Personal computer skills in spreadsheets and word processing. Basic arithmetic skills particularly in percentages and interest rates. Basic understanding of purchasing and contracting methods and procedures; and of federal and state laws and guidelines governing procurement. Excellent communication skills; listening, written, and oral. Must submit and pass a criminal background check with Federal, Tribal and State Law Enforcement.
