We are looking for a Purchasing Agent to join our Team!
We manufacture the car haulers seen on roads throughout the U.S. and Canada. We are known for our innovation, quality and making the strongest and lightest car haulers on the market today. We are searching for talented, motivated individuals who thrive working in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
The Purchasing Agent reports to the VP of Operations and is responsible for identifying suppliers, researching goods and services, processing purchase orders and working with our receiving clerk to verify inventory levels and delivered items.
Responsibilities:
- Researching and comparing suppliers, goods and services.
- Effectively negotiating with current suppliers and sourcing new suppliers for better pricing.
- Selecting the most suitable suppliers in terms of reliability, product quality and cost efficiency.
- Monitoring inventory levels and determining purchasing needs.
- Requesting cost proposals and negotiating contracts and prices.
- Preparing and processing purchase orders.
- Maintaining records of all transactions, purchase orders, receipts and payments.
- Scheduling and verifying purchase deliveries.
- Building and maintaining positive, long-term supplier relations.
- Following and enforcing the company’s procurement policies and procedures.
- Managing inventories and maintaining accurate purchase and pricing records.
- Maintaining and updating supplier information such as qualifications, delivery times, product ranges, etc.
- Preparing budgets, cost analyses and reports.
Requirements:
- Degree in business administration, procurement, or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience as a Purchasing Agent or in similar position.
- Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing setting.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong organization and documentation skills.
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and purchasing software.
- Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required
- Ability to work collaboratively with all other departments – Manufacturing, Accounting, Engineering
Medical – currently a $650 monthly stipend in addition to salary
Schedule is 8:00AM – 5:00PM Monday-Friday
