Purchasing Agent

We are a rapidly growing wholesale and e-commerce company that sells upholstery and campervan products to the wider marine, van conversion and automotive aftermarkets. We are seeking a motivated Purchasing Agent who is excited to grow with our company.

Our e-commerce company distributes by both drop-shipping and stocking inventory in our own warehouse. We pride ourselves on providing exceptional customer service and quality products, as well as our engaging work environment that supports the growth of our motivated and talented employees.

Purchasing Agent

We are looking for a Purchasing Agent to maintain the company’s supply of products and services. The Purchasing Agent will work closely with the marketing, sales, and logistics teams to ensure that the company has the right products in the right place at the right time.

Purchasing Agent responsibilities include managing inventory levels, coordinating with suppliers, handling RMAs, and negotiating pricing to ensure optimal profitability for the company. The Purchasing Agent will also be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of inventory and purchasing transactions.

Job Type

• Full-time

• Mon-Fri business hours

• On-site in Portland, OR

Responsibilities

• Maintain appropriate stock levels

• Place purchase orders and track shipments

• Coordinate with suppliers for drop-shipping orders and warehouse team for shipping from stock

• Communicate proactively with management, sales team, and customer service teams

• Handle returns, exchanges, lost/damaged shipments

• Build strong, collaborative, successful relationships with internal and external stakeholders

• Work with the logistics team to ensure that products are shipped on time and in good condition

• Monitor inventory levels and forecast demand to ensure appropriate stock levels are maintained

• Maintain accurate records of inventory and purchasing transactions

• Collaborate with suppliers to purchase inventory at competitive prices

• Ensure timely delivery of orders to customers and resolve any issues related to inventory or shipping

• Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness

• Contribute ideas for improving or optimizing purchasing procedures

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other inventory management software

• High school diploma

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience handling inventory/stocks

• Worked with ERP system in a prior job

• Experience working as a Purchasing Agent

• Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques

• Dexterity in reading the market

• Skilled with negotiations and networking

• Strong leadership capabilities

• Knowledge of e-commerce industry and drop-shipping operations

• Experience in purchasing, inventory management, or supply chain management

• Degree in business, supply chain management, or related field
