JOB PURPOSE:
Under the supervision of the Director of Communications, the Public Relations Specialist is a core member of the Communications Department. Their primary responsibilities will be to assist in identifying and developing compelling media pitches that help connect people to care and inspire people to enthusiastically support the mission of Endeavors. The PR Specialist will assist in developing and project managing Public Relations campaigns and pushes, helping educate the community about who Endeavors is and how our programs can help those who need them.
Position Requirements
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist in identifying, creating, and telling effective, compelling stories that resonate with the appropriate target audience.
• Organize press kit materials for media outlets, including press releases, images, videos, pitch letters, case studies, feature articles, and trend stories.
• Assist in the planning and coordination of interviews and other media and event opportunities.
• Coordinate with contracted consultants on PR pitches and subsequent opportunities.
• Manage day-to-day media relations/media requests for brand and corporate issues.
• Collaborate with marketing/ communications and subject matter experts in a timely manner to determine appropriate media responses via various channels.
• Develop and/ or assist with the development of written materials including press releases, Q&A, requests for coverage, and talking points on brand and corporate issues as required.
• Identify opportunities to proactively pitch brand and corporate stories as appropriate.
• Review all brand PR materials to ensure communication is accurate, relevant and consistent with Endeavors' brand and overall corporate messaging and positions.
• Evaluate and report on the effectiveness of earned media
• Other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or related field.
EXPERIENCE: 3+ years experience in a Public Relations role. Exceptional writing and editing skills. Strong understanding of mechanics of media pitches to include, press releases, requests for coverage, and media alerts. Proven ability to develop and execute strategic PR campaigns. Familiarity with PR trends and best practices. Experience monitoring and analyzing media coverage to identify opportunities and respond to issues.
ATTENDANCE: Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined in the employer's sole discretion.
LICENSES: Driver's License with clear record.
VEHICLE: Must have daily use of a vehicle without prior notice.
OTHER: Must be available and willing to travel to various locations and with such frequency as the business need dictates.
EXCEPTIONS TO THESE CRITERIA MUST BE APPROVED BY THE DEPARTMENT HEAD.
