PR Manager!
Public Relations Manager- Helen Woodward Animal Center
Exempt Position- $70,000-$75,000/annually
Full Time (40 hours per week- occasional nights and/or weekends as needed)
We are looking for an articulate and dynamic person to be our Public Relations Manager, adept at telling stories compassionately to spread the word about the work we do at Helen Woodward Animal Center!
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITES:
Our ideal candidate for the Public Relations Manager will be able to draft press releases, coordinate with partner organizations on media releases and coordinate and prepare for publication weekly and monthly.
The Public Relations Manager must be able to film and create video packages for the Center's many programs and adoption stories, as well as possess the ability to film and download B-Roll to send with press releases. Familiarity with Premiere Pro software preferred. Comfort and familiarity with interviewing for video story creation is a plus.
As our Public Relations Manager, you will coordinate media appearances with multiple departments, staff, orphan pets, and volunteers. The ideal candidate will act as Center representative for media appearances and events, assisting in coordinating media coverage for the Center's programs and fund-raising efforts. The Public Relations Manager will act as a Center spokesperson and be a contact for handling media inquiries and represent the Center at civic or other appropriate functions. Duties will include assisting the PR Director to coordinate media campaigns and events, assisting with the creation of video content for media and events, manage media partnerships for exposure opportunities and revenue generation, and manage PR database services (Meltwater/Cision).
The Public Relations Manager will oversee Center-wide Google calendar, maintaining quality of web site with consistent branding.
Other requirements include:
- Requires a Bachelor's degree in Public Relations or communications, or a related field.
- Five or more years of experience in the Public Relations field.
- Must have advanced knowledge in videography/photography, utilizing DSLR camera and experience using video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro.
- Previous management and/or leadership experience is a plus.
- Must have the ability to produce a high volume of work under tight deadlines.
- Reliable team player committed to building positive relationships and adapting to several roles and tasks when needed.
- Strong knowledge of Word and Outlook
- Ability to foster a solutions/results oriented environment of teamwork and cohesiveness
- Experience working in a non-profit environment preferred
- Must be able to safely lift up to 50 lbs. and possess a valid California's Driver's License.
- Bilingual a plus!
