About this role:
Virtru is seeking a communications and PR manager to join our growing marketing team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing PR strategies to increase Virtru's brand awareness and position the organization as an innovative leader in the data security space.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute PR strategies to secure earned media placements in target tech, business, and security publications. This includes pitching reporters and analysts, arranging briefings, securing interviews, and providing supporting materials.
- Draft press releases, contributor bylines, and other owned media content to announce company news, promote thought leadership, and highlight customer success stories.
- Proactively seek out and build relationships with key reporters, analysts, and influencers covering cybersecurity, privacy, and data protection. Maintain a PR target list.
- Monitor press coverage and editorial calendars to identify PR opportunities. Track media results and provide recaps/reports to the marketing team.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product marketing, content, communications, and sales teams to align PR with broader marketing initiatives and campaigns.
- Help plan and staff major trade shows, conferences, and customer events. Pursue speaking opportunities for company leaders and identify key industry awards.
- Assist with crisis communications planning and response as needed.
Requirements:
- 1-3 years experience in B2B technology PR, with demonstrated success in securing top-tier media placements
- Strong writer capable of adapting messaging and content for different audiences and formats
- Ability to build rapport and long-term relationships with reporters, analysts, and influencers
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills to manage multiple PR programs and priorities
- Passion for technology and interest in data security, privacy, and compliance issues
- Ability to measure performance metrics using tools like Meltwater, Cision, Hubspot, etc.
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or related field
