Job Description
Well-established General Contracting Company in SWFL has opening for an experienced Construction Superintendent and/or Assistant Superintendent. Ready to work for a company who has a get it done mentality. The individuals must have proven track records of being self-starter professionals. Candidates for Superintendent and/or Assistant Superintendent should have 3-10+ years’ experience as a Project Superintendent in the residential construction industry and be able to oversee, manage, and direct all aspects of a project from initial planning to completion. The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership qualities that allow him or her to take control of a project and produce results.
Must have a valid Driver's license and a vehicle that can pick up construction items as needed (i.e. Home Depot). Must be computer literate and able to master software tools provided. Need a working knowledge of the trades, their scopes of work and experience building successful relationships with trade partners. Proficient in Excel and Buildertrend.
General Duties and Responsibilities:
• Coordinate and organize sub-contractors throughout the construction process.
• Continually walk job looking for inferior materials and workmanship, not allowing any new work to layer on top of mistakes.
• Coordinates with Lead Superintendent, PM or Senior PM on a daily basis in a team effort.
• Attend and be well prepared for weekly production meetings with team.
• Maintain quality control checklists as part of the construction schedules.
• Develop and execute completion of on-going punch list
• Complete and submit Additional Work Authorization (AWA) to PM within 24 hours.
• Update Buildertrend daily, following up with reports and notes as needed.
• Proactively analyze plans and shop drawings to anticipate the job fitting together.
• Schedule inspections, make calls, be on-site. Maintain a professional manner with all Inspectors.
• Maintain on site as-builts on a separate set of plans. Coordinate mechanical trades to ensure they are transferring their as-build information to our plans on a weekly basis (Manager to review).
• Take progress and documentation photos of projects daily. May take, create, photo documentation.
• Once Final QCI report is received, complete all outstanding items within 2 weeks.
• Thoroughly review Plans and direct question to Project Manager for clarification.
Safety
• Know OSHA requirements. Communicate safety rules and regulations to trade partners through scheduled safety meetings. Ensure safety rules and regulations are being followed.
• Maintain a clean site not only for safety but for the aesthetics of client and prospect visits.
• Ensure there is always sufficient and complete first aid supplies onsite. Follow all injury reporting rules and regulations.
