The water rights Project Assistant organizes and manages various parts of projects to ensure success for the water rights department. This role will support the water rights departments with project coordination. This includes monitoring and completing daily tasks and actively communicating with staff, customers, and partners. Additionally, responsibilities include creating reports and status updates as well as assuring projects meet the requirements, timelines, and due dates. This position handles administrative tasks for the project manager(s) to keep projects running smoothly. Essential skills include solid organizational skills, including multi-tasking and time-management, problem-solving, excellent communications skills, and a positive attitude.
- Assist water rights departments with projects, as assigned
- Support multiple managers with administrative tasks for specific project(s)
- Monitor the daily progress of projects for the program
- Complete required tasks in timely manner and by set deadlines
- Liaison with internal project team to identity and define project requirements, scope and objective
- Communicate project status to all participants, as directed
- Foster cross-team collaboration to help project team members complete tasks and produce deliverables
- Provide detailed updates to project managers or partners
- Ensure team members have the supplies and resources they need to complete their assigned tasks on time and within their budget limits
- Organize reports, invoices, contracts, and other files for easy access
- Plan meetings and organizing project logistics
- Complete other assigned projects as required.
What You Will Bring…
- An Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school or a combination of training, education, and experience that is equivalent to the employment standard listed above and that provides the required knowledge and abilities.
- Knowledge of project coordination and office administrative practices.
- Ability to use Microsoft applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Ability to perform basic mathematical functions including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division to make simple calculations accurately
- Ability to operate a computer, calculator and other office equipment accurately and quickly
- Ability to accurately file and retrieve records, both electronic and physical
- Possess a customer service orientation
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Ability to understand oral and written instructions
- Ability to work independently within general guidelines
- Possess excellent time management skills and ability to efficiently prioritize work tasks
- Demonstrate precision, accuracy and attention to detail in work
- Ability to responsibly handle confidential information
- Ability to establish effective working relationships with other employees and with customers
- Ability to handle stress and to work in stressful situations

- A valid Oregon driver’s license is required. Employee must have a safe driving record
