GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB
The Professional Development Coordinator will assess company-wide training needs to drive training initiatives, identify and facilitate suitable training solutions for employees. This position actively searches for, creatively designs, and implements effective methods to educate and enhance performance of employees. Creates professional growth plans for employees.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct annual companywide training and development needs assessment through collaboration with managers and subject matter experts
- Create and/or acquire training materials, including facilitator guides, participant workbooks and multimedia content
- Evaluate program effectiveness through assessments, surveys, and feedback to make recommendations for improvement
- Develop and maintain relationships with external vendors to deliver specialized training programs
- Create, organize, plan, and presents various forms of onboarding, orientation, and skills training for employees
- Work with HR Manager to develop training matrix, defining what training is required or recommended to fulfill each employees’ specific needs to maintain or improve job skills
- Work with HR Manager to plan and organize companywide annual training calendar
- Present training and development programs using various forms and formats including group discussion, lecture, simulations, and videos, both in person and virtual
- Maintain records of training and development activities, attendance, results of tests and assessments, and retraining requirements
- Track and maintain new hire training requirements and ensure timely completion
- Provide recommendations for training requirements for job descriptions/postings
- Maintain knowledge of the latest trends and best practices in training and development
- Develop and maintain relationships with external vendors to deliver specialized training programs
- Performs other related duties as required

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- This position does not have supervisory responsibilities
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Training and Development, or a related field required
- Minimum two years of training experience required
- Minimum two years' experience working on a Human Resource team
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to clearly present/communicate information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
REASONING ABILITY
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
