Job description

Stoel Rives LLP has an immediate opening for a Talent Development & Diversity Coordinator in either of our Portland or Seattle offices.

The Talent Development & Diversity Coordinator provides administrative support to the Talent Development & Diversity Department. The Coordinator assists with organizing, planning, and executing training and professional development initiatives and events for all lawyers and staff Firm-wide. The Coordinator also provides administrative support for the Continuing Legal Education (CLE) function of the department and provides administrative support for all diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) initiatives and events. This position works closely with all members of the Talent Development & Diversity team. This position reports to the Talent Development Manager.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Talent Development

a. Provides administrative support for the annual and mid-year associate, of counsel, and staff attorney evaluation and compensation process and income partner admission process including handling meeting logistics and preparing meeting materials.

b. Provides administrative support for the annual practice planning process for all associates, of counsel, and staff attorneys by handling email coordination and tracking completion.

c. Assists with the annual awards processes for Pro Bono and Coaching and Mentoring.

d. Assists with meeting logistics for regular committee meetings including scheduling and calendar appointments, drafting agendas and minutes, and maintaining accurate tracking spreadsheets.

2. Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

a. Provides administrative support and coordination for all DE&I committees and subcommittees, affinity groups, and DE&I programs and initiatives.

b. Contributes to the planning and implementation of DE&I programs and Firm cultural competence through research and best practice-gathering and provides feedback and ideas to address DE&I challenges.

c. Assists with processing DE&I sponsorships.

d. Drafts reports, presentations, emails, newsletters, and other communications for audiences inside and outside of the Firm and drafts the annual religious and cultural holidays memo.

e. Coordinates in-person and/or virtual meetings and events, including coordination with internal and external partners, vendors, and key stakeholders.

3. Training, Continuing Legal Education, Bar Dues

a. Coordinate and assist with the development and execution of various Talent Development training programs for lawyers and staff, including virtual and in-person event coordination.

b. Provide administrative support for internal and external CLE programing including managing calendar appointments, facilitating attendance tracking, and coordinating lunch orders.

c. Assist with annual group membership renewals and other state Bar reporting, including maintaining accurate records and detailed spreadsheets.

Other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL CAPABILITIES

Technical Knowledge

Must demonstrate personal computer proficiency with Windows-based software, e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook. Experience with CLE tracking software, learning management system, iManage document management system, Workday, viGlobal, and online training programs are a plus. Must be able to operate a computer, telephone, photocopy equipment, and other general office equipment.

Physical/Mental Capabilities

Must be able to read and comprehend handwritten and typed notes or instructions; draft correspondence, documents, and forms; read and proofread documents, including checking for grammar, punctuation, and spelling; read and interpret correspondence, memoranda, and documents; accurately record and deliver messages; type on a computer keyboard and sit for long periods of time during a workday; carry files, notebooks, and office materials short distances; and occasionally carry boxes of files or documents weighing up to 25 pounds.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree required. Must have a minimum of three years' experience in administrative position, preferably in a professional or legal services environment.

NORMAL WORK HOURS

This position is non-exempt and is eligible for overtime compensation. Regular office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, but actual work hours for this position may vary and may include some overtime, including evenings and weekends. This position is eligible for full-time remote work, but in office days and some light travel will be required when trainings and events occur.

The pay range for this position is $50,000 - $83,000; however, the base compensation presented to a candidate may vary based on skills and overall experience. This salary range is based on market location.
