Reports To: Director of Operations/Assistant Director of Operations
Status: Exempt/Salary
Supervises: Production Employees
Schedule: 6:00pm - 6:00am (Overnights, 12 hour shifts)
General Description: The Production Supervisor manages, directs, and coordinates overall plant operations as directed by senior level management. The Production Supervisor is a key member of the team and provides leadership to employees by fostering an environment of trust and open communications, developing future talent, and ensuring achievement of safety, food safety, and quality.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
· Maintain communication between all the Creamery’s departments.
· Manage both union and non-union employees/teams.
· Lead, coach, and mentor direct reports in alignment with business objectives and staff development.
· Assist in the development and implementation of processes and policies.
· Troubleshoot equipment, orders, and product inconsistencies.
· Plan, assign and direct the work of subordinate staff for the achievement of operational goals and objectives.
· Review weekly/monthly production initiatives with staff to ensure customer requirements are met.
· Direct production control operations to ensure the operating needs of the company are met.
· Assist in developing key metrics with staff that are aligned with company objectives including quality, safety, efficiency, yields, downtime, on time delivery, order fulfillment rate, inventory, schedule stability, resource utilization, etc.
· Assist in support and initiate change in production control to promote continuous improvement.
· Provide ongoing communication of department performance toward key measures to management.
· Evaluate and appraise employees’ performance, follow-up with proper documentation both directly and as part of a team.
· Administer and document disciplinary procedures, both verbal and written, when necessary.
· Other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:Required (Basic) Education / Experience/ Competencies and Other Skills:
Bachelor’s degree preferred with advanced knowledge of Food or Dairy manufacturing a plus
Job-related experience in the dairy industry of 5 years or more preferred.
Bi-lingual skills a plus (English/Spanish)
Above average written and verbal communication skills.
Strong critical thinking skills.

Physical Demands
Ability to lift 50+ lbs. repetitively.
Ability to operate normal office equipment.
Stand for up to 8 hours per shift.
Pass a drug & alcohol screen as well as a general background check.
Work Environment:
Food plant environment. Must adhere to all food and plant safety policies and regulations.
Work with chemicals for cleaning purposes.
Atmosphere may be moist, hot, and is dependent on weather.
