What the role is not:
Technical custom cabinet maker specialist. Knowledge of job-shop manufacturing, and/or of cabinetmaking, is ideal and targeted. However, the shop/plant operations have strong technical leaders, and for highly technical or complex items that need R&D, the operations will have a person it can turn to when needed. We call that position “Owner & Master Craftsman”. Our work is unique, and we would not expect someone to be able to handle every technical detail. Therefore, we have set up strong shop management with experience in custom woodwork, and the owner/master craftsman position.
On the shop/plant floor. It is good for the person in this position to be on the plant floor from time to time to connect with team members. However, this is not a position that we anticipate will be on the plant floor daily. The shop/plant managers will run their operations.
