Production & Inventory Planning Associate
The Production & Inventory Planning Associate is a highly organized, detail-oriented, and personable individual, involved in every aspect of manufacturing operations: production planning, inventory control and purchase, production process, supply chain, build relationships with external business partners and be instrumental in ensuring that we deliver quality products on time. This is a high-impact, fast-paced role critical to ensuring optimized business operations – from ingredients to customers.
Responsibilities
- Production Planning and Oversight: Optimize scheduling of production runs and coordinate all raw materials needed for each run. Monitor production yields and efficiency. Coordinate outbound logistics from the manufacturing facility to the customer distribution center.
- Interact frequently with sales, production, logistics, quality assurance teams, and finance personnel with a collaborative, team focused approach.
- Create, maintain and present key performance metrics, reports, and standard operating procedures that relate to operations.
- Focus on continuous improvement as it relates to all planning activities and identify cost/time savings improvements regularly.
- Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels of all raw materials and finished goods utilizing inventory management software ERP.
- Purchasing and Vendor Relations: Build relationships with vendors, manage raw material procurement timelines, issue purchase orders, and manage inbound shipment logistics.
- Weekly reconciliation of invoice and warehouse discrepancies
- Regularly review aging inventory to ensure aging inventory are captured on the Excess report
Capabilities & Qualifications
- BS/BA Degree - preferably in a technical field
- 3+ years in a production planning/scheduling role in a manufacturing environment
- Strong math skills, ability to solve problems creatively, and manage multiple workstreams
- Highly self-motivated, resourceful, accountable, comfortable with ambiguity, and strong willingness to get your hands dirty and dig in
- Strong ability to stay focused on priorities and drive for results
- Ability to navigate dynamic situations and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical mind and an affinity for diving into the numbers to understand the business and help make decisions that drive business performance
- Proficient in Excel and ERP/inventory management systems
- Great interpersonal, written/oral communication skills
