Summary
The Inventory Planning Manager will be responsible for the planning and management of forecasting, replenishment, and allocation processes for an assigned category or categories associated with stores and distribution centers, ensuring successful interface with vendors, Merchandising, Store Operations, and the Distribution Center network.
Responsibilities

• Analyze sales and inventory trends to create and execute strategies to maximize sales, profits, and availability to grow the business and achieve the financial plan
• Develop and implement inventory management strategies that accommodate a wide range of products, including short coded items seasonal buys, and one-time closeout buys
• Maintain a high level of flexibility in an environment with frequently changing SKUs and limited assortment predictability
• Direct the corporate replenishment functions of merchandise inventories for all stores, PDQ’s, and distribution centers
• Be responsible for budgeting and forecasting that ensures the proper flow of merchandise and support the supply chain to achieve business objectives and strategies with consideration of both short-term goals and long-term plan
• Be responsible for replenishment policies that maintain control factors; implementation of inventory plans and systems use that ensures consistent integration to marketing, advertising, product presentation plans and corporate strategies, while moving the department forward in system development
• Incorporate modelling, situation analysis, problem diagnosis, and operations analysis to support business decision making with financial analysis
• Work to define impact of forecast accuracy and bias metrics on developing capability to provide strategic direction
• Enhance inventory deployment and targeting methods in collaboration with Supply Chain. Deliver value in the form of reduced inventory with high service level where possible
• Implement, direct and as needed develop methodology for determination and control of planning parameters related to allocation and deployment of inventory
• Ensure compliance with internal controls as applicable to your function within the organization.

Team Collaboration

• Responsible for leading and driving cross-functional alignment within allocation and forecasting to ensure financial goals are met
• Work cross functionally with corporate departments to achieve in-stock and inventory turnover goals
• Develop strong partnerships with other areas of the business, (Logistics, Operations, and IT), to understand and improve planning and process flow
• Serve as the key communication liaison between multiple departments and levels of management

Minimum Required Experience

• 2+ years’ experience in Flow Planning, Merchandise Planning, Demand Planning or Allocations
• High level of relationship management with excellent interpersonal skills
• Excellent organizational skills
• Strong verbal and written communications skills; ability to engage effectively with a broad range of audiences including business leaders

Preferred Experience

• 5+ years’ experience in Flow Planning, Merchandise Planning, Demand Planning or Allocations
• Retail or grocery experience preferred
• Advanced in Microsoft Office
• Advance knowledge of SQL and merchandise specific computer programs
• High proficiency working with SAP or similar database application technology
• RELEX experience is a plus
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to adapt in a high demand and changing environment
• Previous leadership experience leading a team of 3 or more direct reports
• Proven track record of analyzing financial results and delivering financial results in response
