SUMMARYResponsible for product development and maintenance including identifying trends in product experience and making appropriate recommendations. Assist in the administration and development of company products, systems, and reports in such a manner to support the specialized protection and financial security provided to our customers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Work closely with Product Managers to support introduction of new products, enhancements to existing products (forms, rates, rules), and/or entry into new markets to reach company profit and growth targets
- Monitor and disseminate information on industry trends, growth and profitability and how Jewelers Mutual is performing in relation to recently implemented initiatives
- Conduct competitor research and prepare coverage and/or rate comparison studies
- Collaborate to draft coverage forms for new and existing products
- Assist with preparing and submitting filings to state insurance departments, communicating with and/or responding to regulator questions, and implementing final revision changes
- Accurately create, prepare and maintain weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports and dashboards used to monitor overall product performance on Jewelers Mutual book of business and communicate findings and recommendations to key stakeholders.
- Analyze disparate data sets in creative ways to generate new insights
- Work with Data teams to create a reliable, consistent, and rich data set for inter-company reporting.
- Manage JM’s product idea list and work with JM stakeholders to add new products and improve existing JM products, processes and procedures.
- Assist department management in building a professional unit to attain company and department objectives.
- Represent the department and company on projects and committees as assigned.
- Maintain a working knowledge of the company policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree required
- Must have a minimum of three years of related experience
- An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered
- Must be proficient in Microsoft applications (including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Share Point), particularly with data manipulation and pivot tables
- Experience with PowerPivot, SQL, Power BI, and/or other query/reporting skills
- Preferred experience with Python, R, or SAS
- Must have strong analytical skills and the ability to identify and translate data into actionable opportunities
- Must have strong written and verbal communication skills
- Property/casualty insurance background is preferred
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work autonomously as well as establish working relationships with individuals at varying levels within the company
- Must have strong attention to detail and organization skills
- Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret policy forms, technical procedures, government regulations, and financial reports
