POSITION OVERVIEW
The Procurement Market Analysis Manager provides support to the EPC department and provides Market Analysis for solar PV, Energy Storage Systems (ESS), HV substation equipment and EPC contractors in North America. This position will also maintain relationships with key suppliers and EPC contractors to track price trends and procurement durations. This position reports to the Director of Procurement or another senior management personnel that the CEO of the Company may designate.
This position is remote or located in Irvine, California. This position may require travel, up to 20% of the time.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Procurement Market Analysis Manager. Monitor EPC and main equipment supplier price trends for large Utility PV Energy Generation and ESS projects;
- Provide continuous monthly market reports, using authoritative data and information from main equipment suppliers, to access the adequacy of prices provided by EPC companies;
- Manage and develop equipment supplier and EPC contractor pools. Maintain ongoing relationships with key suppliers and EPC contractors to track price trends and the procurement durations of key equipment;
- Monitor and provide estimates to EPC team members and other departments, for key project equipment and EPC contractors;
- Develop and maintain a working database of all pricing intelligence, feed stocks, materials, suppliers, products, etc.;
- Track history of project costs, and scope (lessons learned);
- Assist Director of Procurement in running EPC, Owner Supplied equipment and other RFPs;
- Assist Project Managers, Engineering, and Development in cost estimating for budgets, proposals, and RFP responses;
- Develop and review Scopes of Work, existing Project Schedules, Bill of Materials, Budgets, standards, and quotes from suppliers;
- Assist Project Managers in developing budgets for Development and Execution projects;
- Coordinate with internal project teams / projects;
- Collaborate with team members when necessary to ensure effective communication and results;
- Ability to travel both domestically and internationally, up to 20%; and
- Perform all other duties and special projects, as assigned by Management.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, statistics, finance, economics, or another related field;
- Market Analysis experience with PV, ESS, and EPC contractors;
- Minimum of 5 years EPC and Owner Supplied Equipment procurement experience;
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the PV or ESS utility industry;
- Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time;
- Familiar with sales and use tax, rebates, payment and performance bonds, insurance options and costs, a plus;
- Work with project teams to develop conceptual and detailed project estimates;
- Work to establish and develop practices & tools within the EPC group;
- Advanced computer skills and knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite;
- Demonstrated ability in managing and maintaining relationships with suppliers and contractors;
- Demonstrated ability in managing projects: development, planning, installation, and execution, a plus;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present and explain complex information clearly;
- Demonstrated ability to influence at all levels of the organization;
- Data-based decision-making, results oriented;
- Assertive, able to cope with pressure, a team player; and
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving, dynamic environment.
