Telework Information: This position is eligible for hybrid work schedule, with up to two days of remote work and three days or more onsite, per week.
CalPERS seeks a Financial Accountant I , Specialist in the Financial Reporting and Accounting Services Division, Fund Analysis and Reporting Unit.
Validates and reconciles the most complex financial reports and analysis. Analyzes and produces monthly, annual and ad hoc financial management reports for distribution to internal and external stakeholders. Gathers and prepares the most complex financial accounting, investment, actuarial, and health benefit information needed to produce the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR). Serves as a technical expert to financial reporting management on Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and fiscal matters. Assists the FA II in organizing training sessions for the professional staff involved in maintaining financial and accounting records and analyzing investment transactions according to GAAP. Guides staff in their completion of daily, weekly and monthly tasks, analysis, accounting and reconciliation processes within the unit.
