Job description

Under direction of the Accounting Administrator II, the Accounting Administrator I (Specialist) independently perform complex duties and responsibilities and assists all positions in the Water Project Bill Processing and Analysis Office, within the Enterprise Accounting Branch of the Division of Fiscal Services. The position has primary responsibility for the analysis of the State Water Project complex cost allocation processes and knowledge of the SAP master data. Will perform detailed analysis for retroactive adjustments and works on special projects involving re-engineering of business functions. This position is highly specialized and is critical for succession planning.

Desirable Qualifications In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
Must have the ability to analyze complex accounting data and possess the ability to use a computer and electronic calculator. The incumbent is required to have a solid working knowledge of complex financial formulas to develop amortization formats based on specific contract language and/or proposals. Marginal analysis is employed to institute changes by contract variables that affect cost recovery. Must have advanced MS Excel skills. Must be able to communicate effectively, provide outstanding customer service, maintain consistent and regular attendance, and exercise good judgment.
