QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience:
High school diploma required. 3-5 years’ experience in plastic Injection Molding
Skills:
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
· Demonstrated leadership ability
· Computer literate
· Familiar with problem solving techniques
· Good analytical skills
· Working knowledge of equipment, tooling and processes used in “injection-molding†manufacturing.
· Self-directed.
· Strong troubleshooting and continuous improvement skill
WORKING RELATIONS
Reports to Plant Manager
PRINCIPAL FUNCTION:
Responsible for setting up and maintaining 150 to 1300-ton molding machines, molds, material and their processes.
RESPONSIBILITIES (Overview):
· Continually monitor and troubleshoot all processes related to Injection Molding and perform adjustments as needed to ensure jobs are running to standard rates (labor, cycle time, scrap rate, etc. )
· Maintain reliable and safe manufacturing systems while improving production rates, efficiencies, yields, costs and changeovers. Hot manifold and Yushin Robot experience a plus.
· Optimize and troubleshoot complex Injection Molding processes using a wide variety of engineered and commodity type resins on Nissei, Mitsubishi, Van Dorn and Cincinnati molding machines.
· Ensure presses are running correct cycle times and match what is documented.
· Accurately record process specifications in to mold books.
· Perform thorough part inspections and make appropriate decisions relative to part quality requirements.
· Investigate Non-Conformances and determine corrective action(s) to ensure successful molding of high quality parts.
· Support area as “Injection Molding Subject Matter Expertâ€, who thoroughly knows materials, injection mold tools, machines and support equipment.
· Support daily production by identifying solutions for chronic issues and problems that cannot be resolved by production associates.
· Meet with shift supervisor and other process technicians to discuss any and all issues relating to the manufacturing floor.
· Adhere to all quality and safety standards within the department.
· Maintain clean and organized work area (5S) with emphasis on quality, safety, efficiency and utilization.
· Continually seek to improve work processes and individual performance.
· Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
