Process Technician - Injection Molding

Lapeer Plating & Plastics, Inc., The Premier Manufacturer of Class A, High-Visibility Automotive Components, is seeking highly motivated, team players, possessing a continuous improvement mindset, to join our team as Injection MoldingProcess Technicians.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Molding Process Technicians are responsible for setting up and maintaining Our 31 presses, ranging from 135 to 1430 tons in size with barrels ranging from 8 to 185 oz, and their processes.

We employ 14 robots & Sequential valve gating.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Accurately program Injection Molding Machines and robots following production schedule.
2. Ensure the molding department is maintained and operated in a manner that will reduce downtime and improve the life of the equipment.
3. Ensure quality parts are being produced and appropriate measures taken to correct problems.
4. Document all activities as required.
5. Clean out vents and surfaces on mold to improve part quality
6. Any additional responsibilities deemed necessary by management.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

1. 1 - 3 years of experience in a similar type position working in the Plastics Industry; Injection Molding process
2. Previous Injection Molding process experience is required
3. Proficient skills in reading, writing and arithmetic are necessary
4. Strong mechanical abilities & knowledge- preferably in the Plastics Industry, with experience in Injection Molding

1. Appropriate knowledge of the methods, tools, materials, and equipment associated with Injection Molding Presses
2. Mechanical ability as well as physical strength and agility.

3. Excellent computer skills
4. Strong communication skills

Shift Schedules

MOLDING (MLD) – 40 Hours per week*

1st shift: 6:00 am – 2:00 pm (Mon-Fri, Sat. as needed)

2nd shift: 2:00 pm – 10:00pm (Mon-Fri, Sat. as needed)

3rd shift: 10:00 pm – 6:00 am (Mon-Fri, Sat. as needed)
