Analyze the performance of the manufacturing process for tubular steel products. Design and improve the manufacturing practices, providing quality assurance for the end products. Provide quality assurance for end products analyzing performance of the manufacturing process and designing or improving manufacturing practices. Comply with established quality standards designing a stable and defect-free process and track quality procedures from generation to implementation. Assess product quality and ensuring adherence to industry standards by developing and applying reliable quality procedures. Evaluate technical controls and data to optimize manufacturing process and programs while providing required quality standards. Provide optimization to the process using technological information and reports from competitors, benchmarking activities, and continuous improvement. Coordinate technological R&D activities in the area. Ensure satisfaction of internal clients and external customers by monitoring product quality results and analyzing/implementing action plans as required. Collaborate in the compliance with line manufacturing programs, verifying that the performance of machinery and instruments used in the production process respond to established use and efficiency criteria. Utilize experience in conducting chemical and physical analysis of the raw materials to collaborate with the Engineering Dept. to develop new steel products (new specifications, different dimensional characteristics, etc.). Utilize experience in elemental and chemical characterization of materials to provide quality assurance for raw materials including: Energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), Inductively coupled plasma spectroscopy (ICP) - used in coatings, metallurgy. Utilize experience in Surface and structure characterization techniques (Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD),) used to determine improving manufacturing process performance and end product quality in coatings, metallurgy, and construction materials. Utilize chemical composition characterization experience, Ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometry, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR)) to provide quality assurance for raw materials. Apply destructive and Non-destructive testing method: Tensile and Strain testing, Eddy current NDT (ET) to improving manufacturing process performance and end product quality. Collaborate with Operations and Maintenance to guarantee knowledge-sharing in the area of specialty by participating in the development, revision and update of courses, ensuring active participation in training activities, and supporting the communication process. Participate in HSE objectives setting, define and implement programs and actions applicable to the area of responsibility for continual improvement of HSE performance. Comply with the companies' policies, procedures, and management standards, ensuring adherence with all laws and regulations that apply to the area of responsibility. Perform statistical analysis and data analysis to reduce errors related to the parameters effecting the experiment and testing results.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
