Summary
Heraeus Quartz North America, LLC. has an immediate opening for a Process Engineer to join our Production Engineering team at our Buford, GA. location. The Process Engineer will be a key member of the corporate technical group with duties directed towards improvement of current processes and products. As a member of the Production Engineering Department, the Process Engineer will apply engineering expertise to continually improve current processes and to industrialize new processes and products. The Process Engineer provides engineering design, project management, and technical support for production, quality, safety and customer support issues. This position requires excellent intrapersonal skills and will be working in close collaboration with Production Managers, R&D Engineering, Sales, and Quality to meet company-wide goals.
Your Role and Responsibilities:
- Assume Technical Ownership over process areas as assigned. Apply engineering expertise to ensure safe working environment, stabilize and continually improve the process, eliminate waste, ensure product quality meets customer expectations, minimize scrap, and drive down costs.
- Analyze process and quality data to monitor the process, prevent quality problems, and identify areas for improvement.
- Effectively apply data-driven, systematic problem-solving methodologies such as Six Sigma, DMAIC, and PDCA to improve plant processes.
- Design and/or specify new production equipment and modifications to existing equipment.
- Develop and implement innovative solutions to resolve production and process issues.
- Support plant-wide continuous improvement efforts though leadership of Kaizen teams.
- Provide leadership, technical expertise, and problem-solving skills to resolve short-term process and/or equipment problems.
- Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, R&D, Project Engineering, Quality, and Sales departments to achieve corporate goals.
What is required for this role:
- BS/MS/PhD Chemical, Materials, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline. Advanced degree is highly desired for this position.
- 7 years or equivalent engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to analyze large sets of process and quality data using powerful commercially available statistical packages such as S+, R, MATLAB or JMP.
- Proficiency in data-driven process improvement methodologies such as 6-Sigma, DMAIC, and PDCA.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
