Job Description
Principal Applications Engineer, Formulation & Commercialization
$100,000 to $160,000 plus stock options
Nano Catalytics...
We're a revolution in the making.
At Nano we’re about enabling speed, efficiency and net impact in polymers. We’re doing two things today - additives for enhanced and enabled performance and on demand chemistry activation through opacity - both previously impossible without great limitation.
Whats first? We’re commercializing revolutionary plastics, coatings and adhesive additives that transform how we use nano materials economically, efficiently, effectively for improved physical performance and electrical conductivity. This exciting proprietary nano technology allows us to easily incorporate materials like carbon nano tubes for effect at two orders of magnitude less material and without any processing difficulties
What else? The other big one?
Activating chemistry on demand through deep opacity. The 99.0% that UV, E-Beam and visible light simply cannot do. We're developing a highly unique platform technology for initiating polymerization on demand, at UV speeds through deep opacity using nanoparticles.
We’re a revolution for high speed polymerization and advanced formulation technology enabling new materials at scale, radically reduced energy and solvent use for a cleaner, greener planet at far lower costs and dramatically improved manufacturing in a far smaller facility footprint.
Our investors are our customers.
That's telling.
We're looking for our early talent and here we seek a hands on, get dirty, practically minded adhesive and plastics formulator with strong technical service and product development and commercialization over at least a decade of experience.
We’re seeking broad experience - from formulation g and evaluating products in the lab yourself and with support to field trials at customers to contract manufacturing experience. Knowledge of plastics, plastics additives, injection molding, films and laminates, hot melt adhesives as well as reactive systems such acrylate, urethane, epoxy and the like are highly desired.
The key skills are hands on experience and attention to detail regarding records keeping, formulation preparation, good laboratory practices, physical and mechanical evaluation, from DSC and TGA to Instron and other physical testing.
We seek someone who can develop their own insights, contribute their own ideas and commentary with an eye towards a fast pace yet intelligent decision making based upon the facts and data as they emerge versus simple consensus building. You should be willing to confidently challenge, ask questions and display an insatiable curiosity and an infectious energy about you.
Prefer a PhD in polymer science, chemistry or chemical engineering with at least ten years of industrial experience. An MS or BS with 15 years experience will also be considered.
This is a HANDS ON position. If you love lab work with impact, leading by doing, working directly with customers, then this is the job for you.
This requires work on trials with some travel but again HANDS ON work with machinery, equipment and the like.
We desire nanoparticle additives and general handling experience, particularly with carbon nanotubes, graphene, ferrites and the like.
Cincinnati-Dayton metro area candidates preferred.
You must be a US Citizen or permanent resident.
