Position Summary
As the Pricing Analyst, you will be responsible for executing directions from the Director of Commercial Analytics. These directions include performing cost, price, and margin analysis, preparing customer quotations and bid submissions, and providing clear analytics to functional leadership members.
Essential Duties and Tasks

- Cost Analysis: Create manufacturing cost estimates based on cost driver assumptions (sourced from Sales, Product Development, Manufacturing, Procurement, and historical actual production data). This includes providing re-costing guidance when presented with changes driven by raw materials, product structure or trial-to-commercialization process transition.
- Price & Margin Analysis: Determine pricing levels that meet agreed-upon margin guidelines and/or pricing strategy for the specific situation/market.
- RFQ and Bid Analysis: Closely collaborate and help provide leadership to Bid team to complete Bid preparation, analysis and submission. Use decision making skills to ensure correct assumptions are being used for the project. This may also include creating calculations, maintaining/updating a working copy of the Bid spreadsheet and other tasks as designated by the Manager.
- Escalator/De-Escalator Development: Validate and develop Escalator/De-Escalators as business needs dictate.
- Projects: Responsible for cost and price analysis projects, which may include (but not limited to) analysis of existing pricing, work order cost breakdown, comparison of actual production cost vs cost model assumption, customer price sheet optimization.
- Collect and analyze data relating to current and predicted market conditions, cost overhead, or competition pricing to manufacture quotes and/or cost estimates.
- Balance customer needs or values with expected product demand to meet customer quoting and cost estimate needs.
- Provide price quote per guidance from the commercial analytics team.
- Demonstrate appropriate attitude in all dealings with coworkers, customers, and suppliers.
Education/Skills/Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in business management, accounting, or related field and/or 1-5 years of equivalent experience in cost accounting, production, estimating or pricing in a manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing concepts and parameters such as Bill-of-Materials (BOMs), Routes, Basis Weights, Machine Hour Rates, Waste, Setup time, Downtime, Machine minimums, Minimum Order Quantities (MOQs), Standard costs and Variances.
- Solid working knowledge of pricing processes and related manufacturing.
- Handle complex issues and problems and refers only the most complex issues to higher-level staff.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as pricing discounts, commissions, margins, percentages, volume, and freight rates. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Excel including formulas and pivot tables, as well as working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, BI tools, application software and ERP usage.
- SAP Experience preferred
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point), Visio, Teams, and Outlook.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and protects privacy of confidential/sensitive information.
- Exceptional time management and organization skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously establishing priorities to meet deadlines.
- Ability to communicate effectively (verbal, written, and presentations) with executive leadership, staff, and internal and external clients.
