Pricing Analyst
The Pricing Analyst’s primary function is to assess data from a variety of sources and use it to derive insights into pricing strategies and market trends to drive sales while achieving revenue goals. The Pricing Analyst will use a number of quantitative and qualitative methods to analyze competitor pricing, product trends, international pricing, market share, margins, pricing data reporting, and other services as needed. These findings will be shared with management and other key stakeholders to help drive pricing strategy.
What you’ll be doing:
- Analyze product and contract asset level data and make recommendations about improvements and opportunities for increasing sales and profitability.
- Responsible for maintaining the global pricing model, evaluating, and making recommendations to achieve business objectives.
- Analyze pricing relationships between products as well as pricing trends by product categories, which include class, product family, product line, and product group. Establish target pricing through data analytics.
- Monitor fluctuations in costs related to parts, labor rates, logistics, and other factors – including within international markets.
- Develop and maintain dynamic pricing data and profitability models that show potential impact of various pricing strategies, including their effect on margins and costs and how they will impact profitability, sales volume, and win rates.
- Prepare profit and loss reports upon request at account level or product level.
- Create processes and measurements to quantify the results of actions as it relates to price setting or changes.
- Actively monitor trends in the hardware maintenance and managed services industry. Maintain knowledge and stay abreast of developments in the industry via information obtained from financial publications and services, government agencies, company sources and OEMs.
- Work closely with Sales and Product Management to develop and endorse competitive pricing strategies; Analyze data related to ROI for existing marketing and promotional programs.
- Comprehensive understanding of processes end to end and their downstream effects with Park Place Technologies.
- Present pricing analysis to key stakeholders with insights, trends, and suggestions to drive pricing strategy; Collaborate with senior management and make recommendations for new pricing initiatives.
- Build relationships with different departments, exchanging information and tools to achieve business objectives.
- Lead pricing-related projects including establishing timelines, defining deliverables, and drafting communications or presentations.
- Assist / lead special projects, ad hoc analysis etc.
- Other duties as assigned.
What we’re looking for:
- 5+ years pricing-related experience (Finance, Statistics, Engineering, Actuarial, Accounting, IT / technical field, database management, reporting).
- Microsoft Excel – Advanced level.
- Experience with Microsoft Power BI, Tableau or SQL.
- Experience with cost analysis and global businesses.
- Experience with different types of data center hardware, configurations, and architecture.
- Attention to detail and analytical capability are essential to success in the role.
- Demonstrate a strong aptitude for identifying and solving complex problems including statistics and mathematic calculations. Utilize critical thinking skills to assess challenges and develop effective solutions in a dynamic work environment.
- Able to work independently based on projects and tasks prioritizing based on deadlines.
Bonus Points:
- Prior experience in the data center industry, preferred.
- Experience with OEM and/or competitor pricing, a plus.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Master’s degree preferred.
