Job description

Overview
Responsible for evaluation and interpretation of regulations to ensure the technical aspects/content of required documentation for PNNL facilities meets the intent of local, state, and federal requirements. Support development/revision and implementation of resulting processes, practices and procedures. Investigates and resolves compliance issues/questions received from PNNL management or staff. Perform assessments of assigned program elements to ensure that requirements are flowed down into HDI work controls and deployed effectively in the field. Analyze the data collected during these assessments to determine strengths and weaknesses, causal factors, root causes, and recommendations for improvement. Responsible for maintaining the Laboratory's Facility Use Agreement (FUA) process and technical bases for the operating boundaries of PNNL facilities. Develop and maintain working relationships with PNNL staff and all levels of PNNL and DOE.
Responsibilities
Specific Job Duties:
  • Write maintenance work instructions using a computerized maintenance management system (Maximo or similar).
  • Create and modify maintenance procedures.
  • Interface with subject matter experts, bargaining unit crafts, engineers, operations personnel, and manufacturers to establish standard maintenance schedules and instructions.
  • Develop and manage maintenance performance metrics.
  • Define and document work scopes, work instructions, hazards, mitigations, and controls.
  • Implement requirements (laws, codes, standards, best practices) in technical work documents.
  • Review completed maintenance records for quality and compliance.
  • Perform field walk downs in mechanical spaces and construction zones.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
  • BS/BA and 7 years of relevant experience -OR-
  • MS/MA or higher and 5 years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience using Maximo (or similar computerized maintenance management system).
  • A broad knowledge of building systems and components such as fire sprinkler systems, HVAC systems, architectural systems, waste systems, electrical power systems, cooling water systems, lighting systems, security systems, boilers, chillers, pumps, etc.
  • Ability to read and interpret system drawings.
  • Experience in records management.
  • Strong technical writing ability and good communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.

Additional Information
Due to business needs and client space, US Citizenship is required.
