We are currently searching for an energetic self-driven individual to join our team as a Facility Maintenance Specialist.
Overview:
Under general supervision, performs a variety of routine skilled maintenance for Auburn Facility/Yard. Ensures that the facility is consistently maintained in a safe and clean condition. Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to, carpentry, landscaping, painting, plumbing, and electrical trades work. Operates a variety of maintenance and cleaning tools and equipment; and performs related work as required.
Individuals at this level receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise and are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies. Work is reviewed upon completion for soundness, appropriateness, and conformity to policy and requirements.
Job Duties:
- Maintains, services, and conducts minor repairs on buildings and equipment as directed
- Performs a variety of duties in the areas of plumbing, electrical, painting, appliance repair/maintenance or HVAC.
- Performs labor and custodial duties including; cleaning offices, public restrooms, and other areas, collecting and transporting garbage, and cleaning floors and carpets.
- Performs and assists in a variety of tasks related to the upkeep of buildings, and grounds.
- Responsible for landscaping projects including both routine maintenance and special projects.
- Operates gas powered weed eaters, gas powered blowers, other miscellaneous gas-powered tools, and hand tools such as rakes, shovels, and brooms.
- Operates vehicles (sedans, pickups, and trucks up to one ton capacity) to transport passengers, supplies, or materials.
- Operates forklifts and other small equipment including, backhoes, excavators, etc.
- Performs and assists with preparation and painting of various types of surfaces using interior and exterior paints and preservative compounds.
- Performs and assists higher graded employees in minor plumbing repairs and minor electrical work.
- Performs and assists higher graded employees in maintenance and repairs to items constructed of wood, concrete, metal, timber, stone, and other miscellaneous materials using basic hand and power tools.
- Maintain routine records of all inspections, preventive maintenance and repairs performed on any equipment or system to ensure compliance with state and federal agencies and local fire marshal regulations.
- Complete other duties as directed.

Salary: $27.00 - $32.00 per hour
