The Portfolio Manager is the investment quarterback for the client relationship and is responsible for evaluating, designing, and overseeing all aspects of the construction, implementation, management, and monitoring of client investment portfolios. The PM provides in-person and virtual proactive, holistic investment advice to clients and prospects; assists with acquiring and expanding client relationships, and assists with the Firm’s platform construction, management, and other responsibilities.

Essential Functions:

Support client teams in the effective communication of the Firm’s investment philosophy and investment platform as part of a holistic wealth advisory solution to high-net-worth individuals, families, and institutions. The PM acts in coordination with the client team as the technical expert in acquiring new client relationships and managing complex portfolios with a sophisticated investment program.

Provide portfolio management service to an existing book of affluent and high net worth clients including custody, investment management and various revocable and irrevocable trust accounts. Responsibilities include trade order entry, monitoring asset allocation and portfolio rebalancing needs, timely and prudent investment of client assets, proxy voting, and coordination with other members of the client team around portfolio liquidity needs.

Meet with clients to review investment performance and forecast market changes based on economic and industry analysis, including objectives and asset allocation models, and ensuring current allocations are appropriate.

Respond to client requests for information, advice, and service, including proactive client outreach and creating and building investment content for prospect and client presentations, client investment reviews, prospecting events, thought leadership articles and investment updates, and documenting account activities and client interaction.

Responsible for adhering to compliance policies and procedures, including all relevant Reg 9 reviews, advising on, and updating client investment objectives, monitoring payment of soft dollar services, monitoring and addressing overdrafts, and maintaining updated investment policy statements for client accounts.

Accountable for the understanding of and adherence to operational controls, policies, procedures, and processes to ensure compliance with bank policies and related laws and regulations.

Other related duties as assigned

Position Requirements (Knowledge/Skills/Abilities)

Broad-based technical knowledge of investments, markets, the economy, and high net worth portfolio management.

Preferred knowledge of fiduciary standards, principles, products and applicable laws and regulations relevant to discretionary portfolio management for fiduciary clients.

Intermediate level knowledge of MS Office with the ability to learn other job specific software applications.

Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to distill and convey information in a compelling manner.

Skill in analyzing situations and apply critical thinking to resolve problems and decide on appropriate courses of action.

Skill in managing multiple competing priorities and to make timely, informed decisions that consider the relevant facts, goals, constraints, and risks.

Skill in adopting technological advancements and facilitating into current and future responsibilities

Ability to work collaboratively, communicate effectively and have positive relationships with customers (internal and external).

Possesses the drive to work towards a standard of excellence.

Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with acute attention to detail,

Ability to motivate and inspire a team, leading by example.

Ability to anticipate, monitor, and meet the needs of customers (internal and external) and respond in an appropriate manner.

Education/Experience:

Undergraduate degree in finance, accounting, economics or equivalent preferred;

Certifications in, or progress toward, designations such as CFP, CFA, CIMA, CAIA and/or MBA.

A minimum of three (3) years of experience in the financial services industry (preferably with management of discretionary fiduciary accounts for high net worth clients).

Working knowledge of a Bloomberg Terminal is preferred.
