Overview: This position requires a highly responsible professional who will take an active role in administratively planning, coordinating, supervising, and evaluating the activities of Avenue 360’s Dental Department.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Clinically supervises Dental professional staff.
- Has clinical oversight responsibilities regarding OSHA compliance, universal precautions, standards of care, and best practices for dental clinic operations in collaboration with the clinic operations manager.
- Provides overall clinical direction for the dental clinic (s) policies and procedures.
- Has input into patient scheduling and schedule flow.
- Has input into purchasing of supplies and inventory control.
- Public/ Community outreach.
- Develops long range planning and future goals via strategic planning participation.
- Assists in grant writing and budget development.
- Coordinates clinical research projects, if applicable.
- Lectures locally, nationally, and internationally as needed or requested.
- Required to maintain confidentiality for patients and patients' records.
- Oversees preparation of agenda and materials for Clinic Dental committees.
- Examines, diagnoses, and treats patients.
- Completes all EMR required fields after each visit including the e-signing of notes.
- Provides quality dental care according to Avenue 360 Health and Wellness’ standards on quality assurance.
- Acts as primary consultant on all dental cases referred by other staff.
- Maintains State of Texas license.
- Performs all duties as per state license.
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein or prescribed by the CMO. Participates in quality assurance, quality management, and compliance and performance improvement initiatives.
Education, Experience, Licensure/Certification and Skills/Abilities Related Requirements:
- Ability to make professional and administrative decisions within the framework of agency rules and policies.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Must be in possession of a valid license to practiced dentistry in the State of Texas.
- Have a thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of Dentistry commensurate with his/her training.
- Demonstrate a special interest in the area of community medicine.
- Ability to relate to culturally diverse patients and community.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of Dental experience preferred.
Continuing Education and Training Requirements:
Participates in trainings required by the funding source and/or as required by licensure.
