Job Description:
In this role you will oversee all aspects of our manufacturing operations at our Nuevo Laredo, Mexico site including production, shipping, and quality. You will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe production of all our automotive components. The best candidates are strategic thinkers who can lead and develop a team, effectively manage our budget, optimize production processes, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities Include:
- Develop and implement operational plans that align with the company’s strategic goals, minimize cost, and optimize labor, equipment, and materials
- Monitor the production schedule to optimize MRP and PRP requirements while meeting customer requirements
- Coach and develop a team of production managers, material handlers, and operators including setting hiring goals, maintaining engagement, and conducting performance reviews
- Analyze KPIs to identify improvement opportunities and manage Team performance
- Implement and monitor safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe work environment
- Maintain the plant’s budget and ensure cost-efficient operations
- Implement and manage inventory control procedures to optimize material flow and minimize waste
- Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and productivity
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality, and sales to meet customer expectations and identify process improvements
- Communicate frequently with company leadership regarding overall plant health and performance
Requirements:
- Must be bilingual in Spanish and Englis
- At least 8-10 years of experience as a Plant Manager or in a similar role
- At least 10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, automotive experience preferred
- Demonstrated experience in leading and developing a team
- Strong knowledge of production processes and lean manufacturing principles
- Experience with budget development and management
- Demonstrated project management experience
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including reporting tools in Excel
