Position Summary
The Planning Assistant is in charge of batching and scheduling incoming sales orders, using ZIFT and the Mad Engine Platform. The Master Production Schedule created by the Planning Assistant and/or Production Manager will be utilized by the Production Teams to prioritize their workflow. The Planning Assistant will need a strong eye for detail as well as time management skills. This position has occasional required overtime, including weekends and nights.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Prioritize and batch orders using ZIFT
- Print off, organize, and prioritize pick sheets for material handlers at the Chico site.
- Drop pick sheets into their appropriate folders in the “Z Drive” for the Kentucky and Ensenada manufacturing sites
- Analyze and prioritize workflow based on direction from Production Manager
- Frequently update and review the “Load Leveling Sheet,” and calculate how to distribute the pending order demand across all manufacturing sites
- When routing orders to all facilities, follow customer order allocations dictated by the Sales Department during peak season.
- Keep Master Production Schedule up-to-date on a frequent bases
- Quickly communicate short noticed production changes and route production orders accordingly, as directed by Production Manager
- Ability to problem solve order batching and scheduling inconsistencies
Minimum Qualifications
- Familiarity with ZIFT and the Mad Engine Platform
- Knowledge of Google Sheets
- Microsoft Office
- Ability to communicate to different levels of management
