The Turnaround Scheduler is responsible for the development and ownership of the turnaround event schedule, and for preparing progress and status reports to management. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following.
Reports to the Lead Scheduler
Build and manage schedules at Level 1, 2, 3 or 4.
Import, resource load & level, assign codes and logically tie activities down to a Level 4 schedule.
Conduct logic reviews with the appropriate audiences during the planning phase.
Work closely with the TA Lead Planner and Cost Engineers to align the schedule with the cost tracking system.
Will adhere to the client Scheduling Standard and the Sweeny Primavera Standards to ensure conformity in the TA schedule.
Participates in the Turnaround Scheduling group in establishing parameters for developing and building integrated schedules for all units scheduled for maintenance activities during turnaround.
Oversees integration effort between Primavera scheduling tool and IPS planning tool.
Manage each units’ schedules through all turnaround phases. (TA Planning, Pre TA, Unit SD, TA Maintenance, Unit SU, and Post TA)
Works closely with Planners and TA leads to integrate critical path schedules by unit and include shut down and start up activities.
Provides daily updates to Lead Scheduler on schedule progression during turnaround execution.
Develops and distributes turnaround schedule updates to appropriate parties during turnaround execution. (3-shift look ahead, critical path status etc.)
Conduct Schedule Review workshops when needed during execution to resolve issues.
Train field personnel on schedule related administration.
Establish schedule development milestones (baseline issue, optimization, critical path analysis, level, final schedule, first five days,etc.)
- P6 Scheduling experience.
- Strong technical knowledge of TA scheduling software and techniques.
- Good teamwork and peer leadership skills.
- Knowledge of Share Point interactions with P6 is preferred.
- Have a good working knowledge of Excel is required.
- Knowledge of IPS Cost software is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills.
