Job description

The Director of Provider & Clinical Outreach will align market initiatives to achieve targeted organic growth; improve access to and delivery of care; establish and maintain relationships; promote expansion by actively seeking stakeholders and community partners to improve processes, access and outcomes. This growth will be accomplished by coordinating and supporting hospital CEOs, service line leaders, and outreach team members (DPO/DCO) in their efforts to develop collaborative relationships and increase satisfaction among providers (Physicians, Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, Emergency Medical Services, Acute Care Hospitals, and Ancillary Patient Care sites of service) who practice in their communities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supports market/hospital leaders and outreach team members to effectively align and achieve goals by establishing and maintaining provider and outreach relationships; planning and coordinating strategic service line efforts; effectively leveraging appropriate data; and consistent communication of goals/outcomes.
  • In coordination with Regional/Market Provider Relations and Market/Hospital leadership, develops quarterly strategic targeting objectives in alignment with market strategies and initiatives.
  • Supports market/facility leadership in the strategic planning process to provide alignment insight,provider preferences, outreach preferences, and service line growth opportunities through available appropriate data sources.
  • Develops a collaborative relationship with the Regional Director of Provider Relations to maintain structure and integrity of the program, DPO/DCO efforts, growth strategies, service line development, best practice sharing, data mining, and execution on growth initiatives.
  • Ensures timely documentation for outreach calls (meetings) and Issue Resolution Management into the PRM system.
  • Supports monthly and quarterly face-to-face growth meetings with appropriate leaders to ensure a thorough understanding of our current state of provider/clinical outreach engagements, utilization of facilities, and continued opportunities to enhance quality focus, improve access to delivery of care, and identify/eliminate obstacles of available services in our community.
  • Collaborates weekly (or as needed) with Market/Hospital CEOs to discuss trends, business growth opportunities, obstacles to service line retention, and results from the previous week's Provider Relations outreach activities.
  • In alignment with Market/Hospital CEOs, continuously review and modify growth and expansion strategies.
  • Attends weekly/monthly market, regional, and/or corporate Provider Relations meetings for enhanced alignment, training, and development.

Job Qualifications:
  • Required Education/License: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Communication, and/or Healthcare related field from an accredited college or university; AND/OR Healthcare License State or National as RN, Paramedic, etc. Master's degree in Business and/or Health Administration preferred.
  • Experience: Requires a minimum of five (5) years healthcare experience.
  • Expected Travel: Outward facing 75% of the time, along with occasional training and development travel.

Key Competencies/Requirements:
  • Ability to research, understand, and explain healthcare service line volumes, provider affinity insight, facility financial reports, relationship management strategies, and market demographic data tools and oher insightful reports (i.e. Excel, CRM/PRM platforms, Claims Data Software, marketing data sources, etc.).
  • Ability to demonstrate an executive presence with all levels of the organization, while demonstrating engagement, confidence, persuasive communication skills, emotional intelligence, and organizational awareness.
  • Ability to execute with consistent and timely documentation, proactive with identifying and resolving market concerns and opportunities.
