Education: Associate degree in a relevant field such as Security Management, Criminal Justice, or a related discipline. Equivalent work experience may be considered.
Experience: Physical security management, with a minimum of 2-4 years in a similar role. Access Control and IP Video experience a plus.
Critical Action Items:
1. Assist with development and implementation of Physical Security policies, procedures, and guidelines to safeguard the organization's assets, personnel, and facilities.
2. Aid the Physical Security Manager in conducting regular risk assessments and security audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend appropriate countermeasures.
3. Assist in maintaining Physical Security systems; including access control systems, CCTV surveillance systems, intrusion detection systems and alarm systems.
4. Help with monitoring security systems and respond to alerts or incidents in a timely manner, ensuring appropriate actions are taken to mitigate risks.
5. Aid with coordinating with external vendors and contractors for the installation, maintenance, and repair of security systems and equipment.
6. Help establish and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders, including facilities management, HR and IT, to ensure alignment and collaboration on security initiatives.
7. Configure and deploy security systems for installation and deployment.
8. Keep security equipment up to date and maintain security standards as outlined by the Physical Security Manager
9. Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging threats, and technological advancements in Physical Security, and make recommendations for improvements or upgrades.
10. Assist with preparing and maintaining accurate documentation, reports, and records related to Physical Security activities, incidents, and compliance requirements.
11. Conduct site visits as needed when new locations are acquired.
Requirements:
1. Strong knowledge of Physical Security systems, technologies, and industry best practices.
2. Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and standards pertaining to Physical Security and data protection (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, ISO 27001).
3. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess risks and develop effective security strategies.
4. Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
5. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
6. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
7. Proficiency in using security management software, incident tracking systems, and MS Office applications.
8. Some travel and overnight stays may be required on a site-by-site basis.
