Note: this position requires delivery of mid-sized to large containers and requires ability to maneuver up to 40 lbs, and push/pull or maneuver up to 2300 lbs, with the use of assistive devices.
POSITION SUMMARY:
To ensure the timely and accurate delivery of Pyxis Replenishment from the LeeSar Centralized Pharmacy Sarasota to member hospitals and clinics. Assumes responsibility for associated duties as assigned.
JOB DUTIES:
- Using a company vehicle, pick up and deliver all items (pharmaceutical products, etc) to and from any location, (primarily, but not limited to member hospitals, medical offices and any other LeeSar customer) on either scheduled routes, or as needed for emergency stat situations.
- Maintain complete and accurate logs of all pickups and deliveries.
- Contributes to and maintains a good professional working rapport with all customers, employees and vendors.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all materials, information and records.
- Maintain professional appearance which may include wearing clean well maintained uniforms that are provided by the company.
- Introduce yourself when you meet anyone for the first time. Your introduction should be formal, professional, courteous and friendly.
- Operate office equipment as necessary; including computers, copy machines, and cell phones.
- Performs a general daily check of the company vehicle and report any and all discrepancies, maintenance issues or problems to the Director of Pharmacy or Pharmacy Technician Supervisor.
- Assists in receiving and replenishment of stock
- Follow established policies and procedures including safety and precautions.
- Reports all unsafe / hazardous conditions, defective equipment, etc., to a supervisor immediately.
- Assure that work materials and areas are kept neat, safe, clean and orderly.
- Know the specific location, efficient directions to, delivery times and requirements of every location you are asked to service. These skills should be acquired in a period of between three to six months of work experience.
- As customer needs change, work with supervisors to update route sequences in an effort to minimize fuel consumption and maximize delivery times.
- When called upon to make an emergency stat or unscheduled deliveries.
- Attends and participates in staff meetings and on-the-job training programs as required.
- Performs other related duties with the job classification or organization as necessary or as assigned by Director of Pharmacy or Pharmacy Technician Supervisor.
EDUCATION:
- HS Diploma or equivalent required.
- Must possess a valid Florida drivers license and a clean driving record.
- Must be able to read, write and speak the English language; understand written and oral instructions
- Previous courier experience preferred.
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, climb, kneel, crouch, twist, maintain balance and reach with frequency or continually.
- Ability to demonstrate basic communication and math skills needed to perform the work.
- Ability to pass DOT physical exam for driving in order to carry out driving duties.
SKILLS:
Lifting, maneuvering, pushing/pulling may include the use of assistive devices.
