Job Description
As a permit coordinator/expeditor, you prepare and submit permit applications . You navigate the application and permit process by investigating city planning department guidelines, submitting paperwork properly and on time, and keep clients updated on their application status. Your responsibilities include researching city planning and zoning codes, compiling reports and documentation, and transporting time-sensitive documents to our 3rd party permit company that does most of our expediting to the city or expediting the documents yourself. Your duties involve tracking applications, following specific processes for both hard copy and electronic documents, and performing administrative and follow-up tasks as necessary. You educate prospective and existing clients on regulations and codes relevant to their projects and provide solutions to potential permitting challenges.
The ideal candidate will be organized, detail oriented, with an outgoing personality. Transportation and a clean driving record required. A college degree is not mandatory but is preferred. Must have a high school diploma and have a minimum of 2 year experience in a customer service-oriented role and also 2 years in Permit processing.
This is a Monday through Friday Part time with possibilities of Full-time in the very near future with compensation based on experience.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Obtain documents from customers to facilitate the permit application process.
- Coordinate with others on schedule, delivery and status of all permits.
- Review plans issued and permit details for accuracy.
- Prepare and submit paperwork for permits.
- Schedule and coordinate inspections.
- Maintain all company files related to permit department.
REQUIREMENTS
- Understanding the permit process for multiple municipalities especially the Miami, Ft. Lauderdale & Palm beach areas.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, ability to prioritize and take initiative
- Detail-oriented team player comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (specifically Word & Excel )
- Excellent communication skills in English (Spanish is a plus) written and verbal
- Able to professionally perform multiple detail-oriented tasks with simultaneous deadlines
- At least 2 years experience in Permit processing.
