Opportunity Stanislaus is helping Sierra Vista Child & Family Services recruit a People Relations Advisor.

The primary purpose of this position is to administer all routine functions of the People Relations department, including administering employee changes, benefits, leave of absences, workers’ compensation, safety and enforcing agency policies and practices.
 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Human Resources and training required.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, detail oriented, and communication skills.
  • Must possess good judgment and a high degree of urgency and follow through.
  • A valid California driver’s license with less than two minor moving violations is required of staff who have driving duties to meet the requirements of their position and be approved by the agency’s insurance company.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft software, HRIS systems, and have ability to learn new software programs.
  • Ability to work efficiently, handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Sound personal qualifications (i.e., maturity, stability, high moral standards, and sound mental health and physical ability to perform job duties).
  • Demonstrated ability to work in highly confidential position and maintain confidentiality of agency business.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to understand significance of department consistency and knowledge.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain professional boundaries and work harmoniously with others.


General Responsbilities:

  • Complete personnel related forms, such as financial and employment verifications, and unemployment claims as needed.
  • Process employee separations and complete employee exit interviews.
  • Process current employee changes.
  • Benefit administration, which includes assisting employees with benefit enrollment/changes. Administer COBRA requirements as required and in accordance with applicable law.
  • Work directly with health benefit broker to discuss and resolve employee benefit issues as they arise.
  • Collaborate with People Relations team members to plan and manage the annual health benefit renewal process.
  • Access information regarding sick, vacation and other applicable benefits status.
  • Employee leave of absence administration.
  • Conduct accident investigations and process Workers’ Compensation claims/forms.
  • Assist the Recruiter/Talent Advisor as needed, conduct screening process and clear candidates for in-person interviews, and participate in interviews.
  • Assist with the entire onboarding process with all new hires, interns, mentors, and volunteers. Including, scheduling, and administering all onboarding meetings, ensuring all paperwork is completed in full, coordinate and ensure that all requirements/background clearances are met prior to communication of clearance to the hiring manager.
  • Address employee relation concerns in collaboration with People Relations management. Assist with investigations into discrimination/harassment claims as requested.
  • Provide direction and guidance to staff to ensure compliance with agency policies.
  • Inform People Relations management of any benefit, leave of absence, and workers’ compensation issues, and problem health or insurance claims.

Administrative:

  • Provide administrative assistance to the People Relations Department as needed including auditing files, tracking documentation to maintain compliance, gathering data, generating reports, data entry, general filing etc.
  • Act as the back-up for other People Relations Advisors.

Joint Commission:

  • Responsible for preventing and controlling infection.
  • Responsible for maintaining a culture of quality and safety.

Other:

  • Attend all required meetings.
  • Report any suspected child or dependent adult/elder abuse or neglect immediately to the direct supervisor or utilize the chain of command if the supervisor is unavailable.
  • Report any client imminent danger to self or to others or gravely disabled immediately to the direct supervisor or utilize the chain of command if the supervisor is unavailable.
  • Other duties as assigned.
