Job Description:
Peer Recovery/Support Specialists will use their own recovery experience and peer certification training to assist clients with defining their recovery goals, and developing the skills and knowledge needed for their recovery. This position works to provide a warm transition into a community setting for clients leaving in-patient facility. Peer Recovery Specialists will interact with many different types of behavioral health and medical professionals while remaining true to the mission of peer support. Peer Recovery Specialists will advocate for clients while being in partnership with other staff members. They will assist with transportation to treatment and other community providers when necessary.
Qualifications:
- Personal experience with substance abuse and/or mental health.
- Previous experience in human services.
- Previous Peer Specialist experience preferred.
