Payroll Specialist

Overview
As a Payroll Specialist at Flatiron, you will be responsible for processing payroll, auditing time records and ensuring data integrity with all new hire and change form entries.
What you will be doing
* Processes payroll within Company assigned frequencies, which includes compiling payroll data such as hours worked, taxes, insurance, and withholding union dues, and preparing and issuing paychecks.
* Processes timely and accurate wage assignments, garnishments, child support orders, and employment verifications.
* Audits all system entries for new hires, status and compensation change and termination submissions with the support of the HR Data Entry team.
* Responds and resolves payroll inquiries in a timely and compliance manner and within prescribed methods.
* Analyzes payroll reports such as Certified Payroll, Job Cost Association, Gross Payroll Registers, Vacation Reports to ensure accurate and timely tracking and accruals.
* Perform additional assignments per management's direction.
* Supports reconciliation of outstanding payroll checks with the corporate Accounting team.
* Maintains knowledge of Company's values and strategic plan.
* Support published corporate policies.
What we are looking for
* High School diploma / GED required.
* Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field preferred.
* 3+ years' experience with in-house payroll processing.
