What Will You Be Doing?

Under limited supervision, responsible for ensuring timely and accurate processing of biweekly and semi-monthly union and nonunion payrolls, including input of wage and pay data of company employees, verifying accuracy of data and preparing payroll reports in a timely and efficient manner. This position serves as a contact for inquiries from employees and third-party vendors. Will also provide back up and support for other members of the payroll team.


Essential Functions

  • Overall responsibility for timely and accurate processing of bi-weekly and semi-monthly payrolls for approximately 4,000 employees. Research thoroughly and prepare manual checks upon demand.
  • Works with ADP regarding the filing and reconciliation of taxes at federal, state and local levels.
  • Uploads and verifies payroll files for processing into the ADP system.
  • Maintains and updates the wiring of payroll and 401(k) funding.
  • Ensures that data is input accurate and appropriate records are maintained and in compliance with local, state and federal laws.
  • Maintains, updates and audits payroll and employee records for new hires, terminations, garnishments, levies and company and employee directed changes as necessary.
  • Investigates and resolves any payroll issues.
  • Assists team with biweekly and year-end payroll processes.
  • Provides excellent customer service to employees and management regularly.
  • Assists with the maintenance of time and attendance system.

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of payroll experience in a fast-paced/high-volume environment
  • UltiPro system and Kronos experience strongly preferred
  • Experienced with federal, state and local tax and payroll practices and legal requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required
