We have immediate openings for Payroll Specialists based out of our Tucker, GA office. Part-time work and remote days available. Applicants must be based in the greater Atlanta area and able to commute to the office a few times each month.
This role involves processing client payroll. You will be the main point of contact with all payroll clients. You have excellent communication skills and regularly meet deadlines. The ability to be simultaneously detailed and fast is key. Your role will focus on entering hours and payroll data to ensure accurate allocation of expenses to client’s locations and departments. You will be comfortable working with payroll software, excel reporting, and ensuring compliance. Confidentiality and discretion are imperative for this job. An ideal candidate has a background in accounting and an understanding of federal and state-by-state payroll nuances.
Responsibilities
- Process client payrolls inclusive of bonuses, commissions, deductions, new recruitment, changes to pay rates, terminations and other specialized client’s staff transactions
- Establish payroll clients by obtaining the necessary state ID numbers, withholdings, unemployment insurance, and various local state taxes
- Prepare timely and accurate check runs
- Maintain accurate records and reports of payroll transactions
- Researching state by state payroll information
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices
- Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation upon request
- Assist with preparation of balance sheet reconciliations and proposes journal entries to clear reconciling items.
- Client-facing correspondence - including communication with client’s employees regarding hours and access to paystubs
We'd Love To Hear From You If
- You have 3+ years relevant experience in a payroll or payroll support role. Experience within an accounting firm is preferred.
- You have a professional presence and effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Are proficient in PC programs such as Outlook, Excel, Word, and Quickbooks.
- You effectively prioritize and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
- You use strong problem solving and quick thinking to find solutions.
- Take initiative to learn new systems and processes.
Pay is dependent on experience.
