Assists with processing hospital and ADP payroll. Reviews and/or processes Change of status forms, and other forms and documents, conducts audit of computer-generated checks and reports, and performs general accounting functions. Performance of job duties may require the need to work unscheduled overtime as necessary.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Receives, processes, change of status forms, court orders, and other documents and reports; verifies changes in employment, pay status, and other payroll-related information.
- Maintains complete ledgers and journals reflecting wage payments, paid time off (PTO), and other accounts; assists with reconciliation of manual check records and bank statements.
- Reviews/audits payroll reports for accuracy and completeness of information, verifying or reconciling employee tax and other deductions, researching and resolving errors, and responding to other issues as necessary.
- Conducts audit of computer generated employee paychecks and pay slips; resolves errors as necessary.
- Performs bi-weekly direct deposit transmissions in accordance with banking rules and regulations.
- Assists managers and employees with payroll-related problems and complaints; performs appropriate follow-up as necessary.
- Prepares manual checks and payroll adjustments, calculating gross earnings based on pay rate, hours worked, and necessary deductions.
- Prepares and distributes W2 forms; verifies and calculates PTO cash-out for eligible employees; and assists with other annual and non-routine payroll projects as necessary.
- Maintains and updates computerized payroll records; performs various computer interfaces involving several systems.
REQUIRED:
- Two plus (2+) years' experience in payroll. '
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations. 3. Ability to work independently.
PREFERRED:
- B.S., Associate, or equivalent degree in Accounting or Business.
- Working knowledge of a computer spreadsheet program.
- Proficiency with a ten key adding machine
- CPP - Certified Payroll Professional Designation
- Hospital Payroll Experience
