SUBJECT: PAYROLL COORDINATORREPORTS TO: DIRECTOR OF PAYROLL, PROCUREMENT AND ACCOUNTS PAYABLEThis position will ensure execution of the financial compensation of employees in an accurate and timely manner.The successful candidate for this position will have high accuracy and attention to detail, be highly organized, and have strong customer service and problem-solving skills. Primary Responsibilities: (to be included along with other responsibilities)1. Ability to provide payroll processing support with City's existing platform prior to Workday implementation (scheduled January 2025) 2. Provide training to employees on entering time sheets during transition period to self-service method in Workday3.
Prepare reconciliations, and reports on compensation-related data including wages and bonuses4. Ability to communicate effectively and utilize interpersonal and organizational skills to effectively perform multiple tasks and constantly changing priorities5. Understand and enforce compliance with the collective bargaining agreements for various groups6. Able to organize and process large amounts of information accurately and timely7.
Compile, analyze, and document issues on payroll and related fiscal activities to identify systemic issues or problems; recommend corrective action solutions, as needed8. Able to thrive in a fast-paced deadline driven department9. Able to provide excellent customer service10. Able to maintain confidentiality of personal information at all times11.
Other duties as assignedJob Requirements: 1. High School diploma with several years in payroll, finance, accounting, or a related field 2. Knowledge of accounting principles and Payroll processes 3. 1 to 3 years payroll experience4.
Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills5. Proven ability to organize and prioritize tasks6. Attention to detail and high level of accuracy7. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, as well as Google Suite8.
Motivated with the ability to work collaboratively & independently in a fast-paced environmentPreferred Qualifications: 1. 1-3 years payroll experience in a school district or municipal government2. Workday Enterprise Management Software experience preferredThis is a full time non-represented 52-week position with 3 weeks paid vacation, paid sick days, paid holidays, and PTO days. Salary is $70,054.00 - $85,093.00 based upon experience and credentials.
